With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Jean Hanna (Newton, Kansas), who passed away on April 1, 2022 at the age of 102. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband George J. Hanna; and her siblings, Irene McGinn, Sam McGinn (Virginia), Florence Stites (Doug), Kay Stanley (Lynn) and Lois Miller (George).

She is survived by: her children, Tim Hanna (Karen Klein), Mike Hanna, Kit Goering (TR), Lee Koehn (Bob), Teresa Larson (Doug) and Claire Young (Tony); her grandchildren, Daniel Carothers, Meghan Rupp (Dustin), Ben Koehn (Jennifer Hunt), Scott Goering (Mandy), Kelsey Goering, Joel Goering, Clay Larson, Troy Larson, Dustin Larson (Jessica Crupper) and Lindsay Larson; and her great grandchildren, Connor Reed, Harper Rupp, Destiny Ruff, Giana Holland, Jack, George Koehn, Norah Goering, Ethan and Jax Larson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

Memorials have been established in lieu of flowers with St. Mary's Catholic School, Newton Public Library Building Fund and Harry Hynes Hospice, and may be left with Petersen Funeral Home.
