He was predeceased by: his sons, Edwin Lee Mitchell and Donald Rex Mitchell; his parents, Edwin Mitchell and Pearl Mitchell; his sisters, Edna Boots and Ruby Starr; his mother-in-law Una Carpenter; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Mader and Merlin Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Lee "Ginny" Francis; and his siblings-in-law, Ira Francis, Charles Carpenter, Marlyn Carpenter Ballard (Tom) of Madison, KS and Donna Mader of Iola, KS. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews; and neighbors.
