It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Mesa Gonzalez of Ness City, Kansas, born in Fort Stockton, Texas, who passed away on December 8, 2022, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Gilberto Vasquez (Susie Richardson); his wife Susie Richardson; his brother Jesse Vasquez; and his grandparents, Jose, Juliana Mesa, Toribio and Eulalia Vasquez.
He is survived by: his mother Rosela M. Vasquez (Vasquez); his siblings, Cindy Vasquez and Joey Vasquez of Del Rio, TX; his children, Shanaya Hoopman (Charlie) of Ness City, Casandra Hoopman of Ashland, WI, David "Tony" Hoopman (Lynn) of Proctor, MN, Jason Richardson (Denise) of Ness City and Travis Richardson (Becky) of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandchildren, Lizzy, Tanner, Xoe, Tucker, Aurora, Kinley, Josephine, Katelyn, Ethan, Andrew, Whitney, Allie, James, Autumn, Paisley, Holly and Emily; and his nieces and nephews, Tonio and Audrey Vasquez.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
