He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Dorn and Hazel Van Dorn (Corben); his siblings, Harry Lee, William, Richard, Edwin Van Dorn and Virginia Turner; and his grandson Kyle Van Dorn.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Bogart; his children, Douglas (Candance) of Great Falls, MT and Denise Van Dorn of Mulvane, KS; his sister Marie Crank of Hutchinson, KS.; and his grandchildren, Jacob, Karen (Heath), Joshua, Aerica (Steve), Paige (Covington), Samuel and Matthew. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Resthaven Mortuary (11800 US-54, Wichita, KS 67209). A graveside service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, Carl's wish was that donations be considered for the Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy, 130 N. Topeka, Wichita, KS, 67202.
