He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob E. Thiessen and Bertha Androes Thiessen; and his siblings, Velma Carden, Shirley Shuff, Larry Thiessen and Ronald Thiessen.
He is survived by: his wife Joy Thiessen of Moundridge; his daughters, Connie Achilles (Stan) of Newton, Karen Ortiz (Fred) of Wichita and Cheryl Boesker (Gary) of Canton; his grandchildren, Kristen McCormick (Luke) of Salina, Stephanie Phetteplace (Mike) of Park City, Cori Huffman (Joel) of Wichita, Jordan Nice (Alena) of Newton, Tyler Boesker of Canton and Chelsea Craytor (Matt) of Wichita; and his great grandchildren, Olivia McCormick, Henry McCormick and Ezekiel Craytor.
