He was predeceased by: his parents, George Carey of Washington and Bessie Carey (Wright); his former spouse Allie Faye Frye; his spouse Carolee Goering; his daughter Angela Peterson; his daughter-in-law Ruth Carey (Wedel); and his siblings, Charles Carey of Washington, Roy Carey and Anna Lois Valentine.
He is survived by: his sons, Eddie Carey (Sheila) of Moundridge, Kevin Carey (Vickie) of Richton, MS and James Carey of Moundridge; his stepdaughter Colleen Brown (Gary) of Topeka; and his sister Dolly Edwards of Richton, MS. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
