She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Schmidt and Susie Schmidt (Buller); her son-in-law John Schrock; her great grandchild Abigail Jantz; and her siblings-in-law, Frank Midkiff, Don Nightengale, Cecil Langenegger, Joyce and Ken Kyle.
She is survived by: her husband James Gehring (Jim) of Moundridge; her children, James Jr. Gehring (Chrystle) of Edmond, OK, Helen Schroeder (Jim) of Moundridge, KS, Bonnie Johnson (Charle) of Merritt Island, FL and Rhonda Schrock of Hesston, KS; her siblings, Julie Stucky (Leland) of Newton, KS, Emmy Midkiff of Spokane, WA, Twylah Nightengale of Burlington, KS, Fern Goodwin (Ron) of Burns, KS, Berneda Jewell (Rex) of Manhattan, KS, John Schmidt (Carol) of Longmont, CO, Calvin Schmidt (Dawna) of Moundridge, KS and Dennis Schmidt (Sherry) of North Newton, KS; and her sister-in-law Mary Langenegger of Newton, KS. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
