He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron R. Markley and Hallie Markley (Bell); his daughter Theresa Chard Markley; and his siblings, Leroy, John and Dorothy Markley.

He is survived by: his daughters, Angela Ragland (J. D.) and Melinda Markley (Rick Bowman); his granddaughter Jessica Rewerts (Ryan); his stepgrandson Brady Ragland (Carlie Shea); his nephew Lance Markley (Christy); his niece Sherri Hahn; his great-nephew Jordan Hahn; and his great-niece Sydney Markley.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Shriners Children's Hospital or St Jude Children's Hospital.
