He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Welch and Ida Welch (Grace). He is survived by: his wife Katherine Dofner; his children, Sherry (Eddie Kaufman), Suzann (Sam Keegan), Shelly (Ken Blair), Sally Jo (Scott Madsen) and Fred (Teri Welch); and his siblings, Jim Welch, Suzan Smith and Helen Blakely. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
