He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Peterson and Naomi Syring Peterson; his siblings, Marilyn Bletscher, Norrene Kern, Lloyd and Dennis; and his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Kern and George Hovey.
He is survived by: his daughter Catherine Marie (Justin) of Dodge City, KS; his former spouse Pat Keener; his wife Becky Townsend; his siblings, Carl of Morrill, Donald (Peggy) of Dodge City, Ronald (Diana) of Fredericksburg, VA and Vonda Hovey of Dodge City; and his grandchildren, Brian of Dodge City and Emmalea of Dodge City. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
After retiring as a mechanic, he went to work at Sac & Fox Casino for three years until Covid forced a second retirement.
