He is survived by: his sisters, Lorene and Jean; his wife Marcia McPhail; his children, Randy McPhail, Robb McPhail Salt (Laura Geritz), Ryan McPhail (Freda) and Robyn McPhail; his grandchildren, Callie of Dallas Texas, Hannah McPhail of Dallas Texas, Claire McPhail of Lawrence, Devin Neal of Lawrence and Embree McPhail of Lawrence; and his brother Harold.
January 14, 2021, marked the day of his second stroke, COVID an ever-present threat and the day he was not destined to return to his residence.
