He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred A. Nightingale and Ida Nightingale (Unruh); his former wife Ella Mae; his wife Mary Ann Koehn; and his siblings, Dessie Koehn, Menno Nightingale, Mary Nightingale, Orlie Nightingale, Ruby Koehn, Clarence Nightingale, Daniel Nightingale, Sophia Nightingale, Glen Nightingale, Frank Nightingale, Cecil Nightingale and Homer Nightingale.
He is survived by: his children, Evelyn Koehn (Verle) of Princeton, David Nightingale (Judy) of New Plymouth, Carol Nightingale of Montezuma and Grace Nightingale of Montezuma; and his grandchildren, Niki Toews (Mitchell), Ande Boese (Verle), Charla Kreseks (Isaac) and Mahlon Nightingale (Julia).
