He was predeceased by: his parents, George Timothy Sands and Josephine Sands (Austin); his daughter Cynthia Berry; and his grandson Adam Sands. He is survived by: his wife Helen Irene Meyer; his children, Mike Sands (Erica) of Ozawkie, Craig Sands of Kansas City, Steve Sands (Claudette) of Ozawkie, Todd Sands of McLouth and Stacia Pfau (Jon) of Ozawkie; his son-in-law Michael Berry; his sister Joan Hood of Topeka; and his grandchildren, Jessica McIntosh, Lindsay Robinson, Micaela Sands, Kristin Steenson, Karyn Shay, Ryan Berry, Shannon Berry, Lorraine Sands, Aidan Sands, Connor Sands, Tyler Sands, Josey Kueny, Cassidy Sands, Haley Kraxner, Braeden Pfau and Jenna Pfau. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
