He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Merritt and Vivian M. Luellen Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Carleen Olberding; his children, Heather Scarbrough (Chris) of Topeka, Bryan Merritt (Marcy) of Alma and Corey Merritt of Eudora; his grandchildren, Kyler, Kourtney, Keegan and Zahra; and his sister Brenda Bumgardner (Jerry). He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
