He was predeceased by: his parents, David Paul and Helen E. Bertels Chmidling; and his siblings, Eldon Chmidling, Daniel Chmidling, Jerome Chmidling, Mary Anne Chmidling and Mildred Peine.
He is survived by: his children, Tim Chmidling (Deanna), Rodney Alan Chmidling of Kansas City, MO and Eudora; and his siblings, David "Bus" Chmidling of Jefferson City, MO, Harold Chmidling of Collinsville, OK and Louise Babcock.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Nortonville. in lieu of flowers, the family request Memorials to Ozawkie American Legion Post #225 or to City of Meriden for a special fund for planting of trees or special landscaping.
