Venice Fairley Obituary
Venice Fairley, 94, followed her Lord to her Heavenly home on October 26, 2021.Graveside services are 11:00 am November 27, 2021 at Roaring Springs Cemetery, Roaring Springs Texas. Arrangements and cremation are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage.
Venice was born September 11, 1927 in Runnymead, Kansas to Orville and Ilda Cully. She was the oldest of three girls. She was her Daddy's "only boy" as she worked tirelessly alongside him on the family farm. Venice worked hard her entire life having many occupations along the way, farming, Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, Motorola Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona, Apartment Complex Manager, San Antonio, Texas, Land Development Office Manager in McQueeney, Texas and most importantly she was wonderful home maker.
She married Elvin L. Stuckey on May 28, 1947 in Harper, Kansas and welcomed her new role as a Mother to his two boys, Charles Dean Stuckey and Gerald L. Stuckey. To this marriage were born two girls, Cheryl and Dee Ann. Elvin passed away in Medicine Lodge, Kansas in 1966. On October 30, 1968, Venice married, Delmar "Doug" Fairley, in Phoenix, Arizona, thus becoming a wonderfully blended family, with the addition of his children, LuAnn and Scott.
Venice was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Elvin and Doug, 2 sisters, 2 step sons, a grandson and a great-great grandson. She is survived by 3 daughters, Cheryl Hubner and husband George of Roaring Springs, Texas; LuAnn Lynch and husband John of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Dee Brown and husband Raymond of Valle de Oro, Texas; son, Scott Fairley and wife Cathy of McQueeney, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Venice was a lifelong Baptist and most recently became a member of the Church of Valle de Oro. She was a member of Rebekahs-Order of Odd Fellows in her early years and enjoyed many activities. She was an excellent bookkeeper, seamstress, housekeeper and cook. She was kind and compassionate, always putting others needs before her own. Doug and Venice traveled for two years in their 5th Wheel to 49 States and Canada, meeting lifelong friends along the way, they fulfilled their RV license plate slogan "I'm spending my kids inheritance" and treasured their wonderful travel adventures. "Momma" and "Daddy" cherished every moment they were together, they were true sole mates and did everything together and so blessed they are together once again!
