He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clyde Elkins and Bula Frances Kincaid; his wife Marilyn Kinzer (Graves); and his daughter Carolyn Elkins. He is survived by: his girlfriend Becky Robertson; his children, Bobby Elkins of Wichita, KS, James Elkins (Lena Davis) of Wichita, KS, Michele Younger (Richard) of Mammoth Spring, AR, Annette Brown (Dennis) of Alvin, TX, Britton Elkins (Brenda) of Cartersville, GA and Mark Elkins of Cave City, AR; his stepchildren, Constance Hopkins, Dwight Kinzer and Fred Kinzer; and his siblings, Britton Lawson of McPherson, KS, William Larry Lawson (Chris) of Kenosha, WI and Karen Bowles of McPherson, KS. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
