It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Renee Lynn Smith of McPherson, Kansas, born in Denver, Colorado, who passed away on December 16, 2021, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Ronald Mabes; her stepfather Marlin Christensen; her brother Randy Mabes; her mother-in-law Shirley Smith; and her brothers-in-law, Tracy Smith and Billy Smith, Jr..
She is survived by: her mother Joan Louise Mabes (Lafferty) of McPherson, KS; her husband Steven Smith; her children, Shane Smith of McPherson, KS and Kelcie Sanchez (Domingo) of Inman, KS; her sisters, Jacque Rinker (Ronn) of McPherson, KS, Rhonda Hamby (Chuck) of Canton, KS and Michelle Unruh (Brantley) of Galva, KS; her stepbrothers, Brian Christensen (Rebecca) of Clearwater, KS, Joel Christensen (Chris) of Ft. Calhoun, NE and Royce Christensen of Olathe, KS; her father-in-law Billy Smith, Sr. of McPherson, KS; and her sisters-in-law, Dayna Needham (Scott) of McPherson, KS and Angie Smith of McPherson, KS. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
