He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Dean and Florence Jean Hoard Tate; his son Nathan Tate; his stepfather Warren Taylor; his grandparents, Lewis, Thelma Tate, Andy and Minnie Hoard; his brother Curtis Tate; and his stepsiblings, Georgie Taylor and Tom Taylor.
He is survived by: his children, Bridget Johnston, Bryan Tate and Aaron Tate; and his siblings, Max Tate, Brenda Marcotte, Dedra Landon and Willie Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
