He was predeceased by: his parents, Dave Schmidt and Dena Schmidt (Nightingale); his siblings, Sadie, Esther, Madeline, Ada, Rosie, Allen Dean and Beauferd; and his daughter Julie Renea Schmidt.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Schmidt of McPherson, Kansas; his children, Larry Schmidt (Julie) of Chillicothe and Jeanne DeWild (Leland) of McPherson, Kansas; his brothers, Chester Schmidt of Galva, Kermit Schmidt of McPherson, Howard Schmidt of Galva and Norman Schmidt of Moundridge, Kansas.; and his grandchildren, Amy, Jennifer, Jessica, Rachel, Staci, Lauren, Sydney, Alexis, Zoe and Addison. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
