He was predeceased by: his parents, Louie Milton and Francis Brooks (Hemphill); his son Travis Brooks; and his siblings, Anna Louise Brooks Daugherty and William Brooks.
He is survived by: his children, Todd Brooks (Jill) of Deatsville, Daniel Fertig (Paula) of McPherson and Mandi Brooks Chaplin (Rob) of Omaha, Nebraska; his siblings, Mike Brooks, Jerry Brooks and Glenda Brooks; his grandchildren, Jordan, Mason, Ellery, Bella, Bryson, Bryntlie and TJ; and his great grandchildren, Hasten and Dawson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to the Kansas State Trooper Association, Wounded Warrior Project, or the Gray County Fair Board all in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
