He was predeceased by: his wife Charlotte Lavae; and his siblings, Frederick Schlender (Gwen) of Burrton and Catherine Becker (Levi) of Newton, Kansas.. He is survived by: his children, Greg (Shelley) of Boulder, Colorado, Brent (Lorna) of Sebastopol and Debbie; and his siblings, Melvin of Wichita, John of Manhattan, Kansas, Bethe Cowan (Kenny) of Topeka, Lois Propp of Willmar, Minnesota and Keith Schlender (Shirley) of Toledo, Ohio.. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild, and dozens of nieces and nephews.
