He was predeceased by: his parents, Waunetta I. Heling (Jenkins) and Forrest F. Heling; his wife Dixie Lou Davies; his great grandchild Kaleb Mortenson; his sister Beverly; and his brother-in-law Gene Cockrell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Debra Johnson of Pratt and Janet Heling of Pratt, Kansas; his grandchildren, Kimberly Seidel, Temple Briscoe, Amber Sprague and Todd Startzman; his great grandchildren, Brittany Rector, Gunner DeClue, Bailey DeClue, Riley Howe, Shawna Baker, Brandi Briscoe, Kami Mortenson, Kelsi Constable, Jordan Sprague and Cameron Startzman; and his great great grandchildren, Charlee Rector, James Baker, Allison Baker and Jason Colon-Vega.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 24 and Veterans of Foreign War Post 2715 both of McPherson and they can be sent in care of the Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid; McPherson, Kansas 67460.
