He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Hanson and Emelia Hanson; his wife Margie McClellan; and his siblings, Evelyn Herman, Floyd and Harold.
He is survived by: his son Kit Newton (Hayden Hanson) of Lawrence; and his sister Vivian Mayberry of Hampton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends.
