With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Douglas Wilson Scales of McPherson, Kansas, born in Sandy Level, Virginia, who passed away on July 20, 2023 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Dorothy Lee Scales; and his stepchildren, Patrick Wedel and Debbie Wedel. He is survived by: his wife Caryl Rosalind Wedel (Winter); his son Erik Scales of Scottsdale, Arizona; his stepson Joseph Wedel of McPherson, Kansas; his grandchildren, Krysta Wedel and Shawn Wedel; and his siblings, Patricia Vaughn of Dublin, Virginia, John Pete Turner of Roanoke and Issiah Hockett of New Jersey.
