He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Herrs and Clara Herrs (Ohlde); his brother Harvey; his sister-in-law LaDean Herrs; his brother Steven; his sister-in-law Eunice Herrs; and his brother Ralph Herrs.
He is survived by: his child Ryan Patrick (Kelly Lyman) of Wichita, KS; his wife Roberta "Bertie" Rose Gutsch; his children, Timothy Herrs of Derby, KS and Elizabeth Herrs of McPherson, KS; his brother Rodney Herrs (Karen) of Tonganoxie, KS; his grandsons, Jacob Herrs and Benjamin Herrs; and his siblings-in-law, Rebecca Meyer (Craig) of Liberty, MO, Robin Chapman (Kenny) of Gallatin, TN and Rita Martin (Tod) of Casper, WY. He is also survived by many cousins, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and a lifetime of friends.
