He was predeceased by: his parents, Godfrey G. Bernhardt and Malinda Johanna Bernhardt (Langhofer). He is survived by: his former wife Virginia Susie Dody; his son Douglas; his wife Susie Bernhardt of McPherson, Kansas; his sons, David Bernhardt of McPherson and Doug Bernhardt (Melissa) of Inman, Kansas; his siblings, Anna Atchinson of Lee Summit and John Bernhardt of Wichita, Kansas.; his grandchildren, Dylan Bernhardt (Megan) and Abigail Bernhardt (Seth Bartel); and his great grandchild Hudson Bernhardt.
