He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Powell and Esther B. Powell (Parsons); his son Donald Loren Powell; and his brother John Powell Jr. (Virginia). He is survived by: his spouse Neva "Eileen" Ulbrich; his children, Linda Rockers (Jerry) of Joplin, MO, Kenneth Powell (Kay) of Topeka, KS and Robert Powell (Susan) of Howe, OK; his daughter-in-law Beth Cullum (Broyles) of Baxter Springs, KS; and his sister Dolores B. Hoheisel (Albert) of Oswego, KS. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Big Brutus Museum and/or charity of choice.
