He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Edward and Bertha Gertrude Maffei (Bergmann); his brother Arthur Maffei; his mother-in-law Anna Kluber; his siblings-in-law, Larry VanLeeuwen, John Defreese, Larry Woods and Peggy Maffei; his cousin Sharon Mishler; his niece Misty Maffei; and his great-nephew Mitch Maffei.
He is survived by: his brother Kenny; his children, John Maffei of Joplin, Joe Maffei of Kansas City and Stephanie Kuye (Abimbola) of Wichita, Kansas.; his grandchildren, Jakob Maffei, Jaxson Maffei, Aiden Maffei, Sophia Maffei, Angeline Mercado, Jeremy Mercado and Layla Berry; his siblings, Kenneth Maffei of McCune, Betty Jean Van Leeuwen of St. Paul and Coleen Defreese of Pittsburg; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Kluber (Sherri) of Grove and Carol Woods (Numerous) of Jackson.
