He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Legleiter and Emma Legleiter (Unrein); his siblings, Alois, Jerome, Kenny, Helen Schmidtberger, Josephine Richmond Adams, Mildred Legleiter and Mildred Skillett; and his great grandchild Jordan J. LaFond.
He is survived by: his brother Joe "Junior" Legleiter (Linda) of Dodge City, Kansas; his children, Mike Legleiter (Sharolyn) of Hays, Roger Legleiter (Brenda) of McCracken and Lynette Buhr (Haydn) of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Carla Owen (Brandon), Brandi LaFond (Michael), Lance Legleiter (Rachel), Lee Legleiter (Sarah), Lisa Legleiter and Brian Legleiter; and his close friend Florence Herrman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:20 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the McCracken Methodist Church (307 1st St, McCracken, KS 67556). A burial will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at the McCracken City Cemetery (2 Little River St, McCracken, KS 67556).
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family request memorials to McCracken Methodist Church, McCracken, Kansas, or the Shriners Hospitals For Children, or the Fort Hays Shrine Club, Hays, Kansas.
