With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Steven J. Smith of Mayetta, Kansas, born in Holton, Kansas, who passed away on October 1, 2023 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell "Emmett" Smith and Lucille Mary Smith (Dillner). He is survived by: his close friend Catherine A. "Cathy" Montgomery of Mayetta, KS; his sisters, Sharon Bukacek (Don) of Mayetta, KS and Shirley Perry (Don) of Goff, KS; and his nieces, Brandy Moten (Kevin) of Hoyt, KS, Angie McDaniel (Jason) of Oskaloosa, KS, Jennifer Dent (Mark) of Paola, KS, Lisa Cronkhite (Ralph) of Holton, KS and Melissa Beauchamp (JimBob) of Mayetta, KS. He is also survived by 7 great nieces; 5 great-nephews; 2 great-great-nieces; 3 great-great-nephews and many friends.
