Elizabeth Jane Fuqua Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth Jane Fuqua of Mayetta, Kansas, who passed away on March 14, 2025 at the age of 95. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Elizabeth Jane Fuqua to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Martin and Merwina Levings Martin; her husband Jack Fuqua; her children, Steve Fuqua and Janie Teetzel; her great grandchild Abella Rose Teetzel; her son-in-law Floyd Teetzel; and her siblings, Charlotte Jones, Rosemary Passino, Jim Martin, Leo, Leroy Martin, Chuck Martin and Anne Whitesell.
She is survived by: her children, Van Fuqua of Mayetta, George Fuqua of Mayetta, Debbie Albright (Steve), Mary DeVader (Doug), Kim Fuqua (Lenny Riley) and Michelle Auten; and her sister Patricia Taylor. She is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home (100 Apache Dr, Hoyt, KS 66440). A rosary was held on Wednesday, March 19th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, March 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (301 E James St, Mayetta, KS 66509).
