He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Kern and Mary "Lucy" Kern (Hunter); and his granddaughter Megan Kern. He is survived by: his wife Carol "Sally" Jacobson; his pets, Okie and Jack; his children, Susan Kern, Mark Kern and Michael Kern; his grandchildren, Daryl Schmidt, Emilee Bush, Mirisa Wyss, Ashley McCune, Luke McCune, Haylee Kern, Jake McCune, Brady Kern and Noelle McCune; and his great grandchildren, Bentley Wyss, Aurora Overby and Waylon Schmidt.
