He is survived by: his siblings, Lavern, Arthur, Viola, Minnie and Juanita; his children, Margaret Hodd (Kenneth) of Frederick, CO, Audrey Yaussi (Larry Stohs), Herkimer, Carol Obermeyer (Mark) and Richard Bartels (Amanda) of Wilber, NE; his siblings, Dorothy Erdmann (Wymore) and Ivan Bartels (Sharon); his grandchildren, Lorae Jenson (Sean), Eric Yaussi (Toni), Brian Hodd (Angie), Jason Obermeyer (Jenn), Shawn Yaussi, Nathan Obermeyer (Dana), Brandi Michel (Hector), Melanie Nemechek (Darren), Richard Bartels (Kaylee) and Desiree; and his great grandchildren, Bridger Yaussi, Ethan Yaussi, Jessa Yaussi, Laney Yaussi, Aiden Nemechek, Dalton Obermeyer, Hudson Nemechek, Travis Obermeyer, Mayson Obermeyer, Cambree Obermeyer, Arionna McCardle, Lucas Obermeyer, Osric Nemechek, Noah Michel, Hannah Michel, Brynn Yaussi, Harper Bartels, Melina Hodd, Callahan Nemechek, Declan Hodd and Alexander Bartels.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Immanuel State Line Lutheran Church.
