He was predeceased by: his parents, Byron Murphy and Betty Murphy (McCaig); his children, Angela Murphy and Ray Murphy, Jr.; and his brother Neely Murphy.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Murphy (Jessica) of Townsend, GA and Sarah Wardlaw (Carl) of Vidalia, GA; his grandchildren, Mikaila, Moriah, Mischa, Malana, Caitlyn, Madison, Micah and Anthony; his brothers, Dave Rettele of Salina, KS, Charles Murphy of Hawaii, Sam Murphy of Centralia, KS and Gerald Murphy (Cindy) of Marysville, KS; and his sister-in-law Claudia Murphy of Leonardville, KS. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
