He was predeceased by: his son Shawn Young. He is survived by: his mother Lois Young of Kansas City, Missouri; his son Matt Yost of Marysville; and his siblings, Michelle Grayson (Mike), Mark Young (Zara), Jerry Young (Julie) and Mike Thornberry (Tammy). He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
