He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Shubkagel and Leda Shubkagel (Bailey); his siblings, Melvin, Marvin, Robert Shubkagel and Ramona Shubkagel West; his siblings-in-law, Louis Wassenberg and Betty Shubkagel; and his nephew Gregory Wassenberg.
He is survived by: his wife Pearl Ann; his nieces and nephews, Brenda Hinkle (Mike) of Stillwell, KS, Linda Rousselle (Ken) of Loveland, CO, Steve Shubkagel (Mary) of Lincoln, NE, Rod Tolle (Virginia) of Trimble, MO, Loren Wassenberg (Rhonda) of Blue Rapids, KS, Leann Altwegg (Jeff) of Riley, KS and LuAnn Ward (Mark) of Wamego, KS; and his sister-in-law Lorraine Wassenberg of Marysville, KS..
He also volunteered at RSVP of Northeast Kansas.
A memorial fund has been established to the Marshall County Historical Society or American Legion SMNR Post 163 in Marysville.
