He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Nietfeld and Marie Nietfeld (Nieberding); and his siblings, Winifred Nietfeld and Paul Nietfeld. He is survived by: his wife Bernice Goeckel; his children, Debra Lambert (Jerry), Seneca, Richard Nietfeld (Joni) and Cindy Heeney (Steve) of Leawood, KS; his grandsons, Andy Kwapnioski (Kandy), Josh Heeney of Overland Park, KS and Nathan Heeney of Scottsdale, AZ; his stepgranddaughters, Amy Shum (Jim) and Sara Pacha; and his great grandchildren, Wylde Kwapnioski, Cash Kwapnioski, Ruby Kwapnioski, Charlie Shum, Lydia Shum, Layla Shum, Skyler Pacha and Aden Pacha.
A memorial fund has been established and will benefit St. Gregory's Parish School.
