He was predeceased by: his parents, August Plegge and Minnie Plegge (Pronske); his wife Wilma Gleue; his son Jim Plegge; and his brothers, Walt Plegge, Ernie Plegge, Ralph Plegge and Arlo Plegge.

He is survived by: his daughter Jean Plegge (Hugh Conover) of Lawrence, KS. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Legion, Marysville, KS; Country Place Living, Marysville, KS; and Meadowlark Hospice.
