He was predeceased by: his parents, Quentin Schmitz and Mary Johanna Kloeker (Dwerlkotte); and his brothers-in-law, Wes Nemec and Kenneth Stallbaumer. He is survived by: his sisters, Margaret Nemec, Cecelia Stallbaumer of Oconto, NE and Eulalia Kloeker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established to St. Gregory's Catholic School.
