He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Niemeier and Wilhelmine Niemeier; and his siblings, Edna Niemeier, Elsie Gerdes, Hermiena Metschke, Orlinda Harnisch, Lola Mae Blackwood, Verda Mueller, Alfred Niemeier and Adelbert "Abby" Niemeier.
He is survived by: his brother Van Dorn Construction; his spouses, Shirley Mae Niemann and Sophia Ruhkamp Edgar; his sister Delores Koch of Bennington, NE; and his stepchildren, Barb Doyle (Richard) of Avinger, TX and Leland Edgar (Debby). He is also survived by 5 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great grandchildren.
