He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shortle and Lucille Shortle (Libby); his stepfather Earl Tidwell; and his brothers, Patrick Shortle and Bill Tidwell.
He is survived by: his wife Wendy Harder; his children, Donna Drinkgern (Ryan), Tom Shortle and Robert Shortle (Mindy); and his brother David Shortle (Kandy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
