He was predeceased by : his parents, Vernon E. Nelson and Mildred M. Nelson (Stromberg); his son Bucky Braden; and his sisters, Karen Deatherage and Ruby LeGron.

He is survived by : his daughter Nicole Koehn (Mike) of Canton, KS; and his stepgrandson Chance Koehn of McPherson, KS. He is also survived by nephews, several great and great great nieces & nephews.
