She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Winter and Kathrina Winter (Brunner); her stepmother Frieda Winter (Budde); and her siblings, Clarence Winter, Minnie Winter and Herman Winter.

She is survived by: her husband Jack Helmer; her children, Shirley Groening (Gordon) of Marion and Kendall Helmer (Melinda) of Wichita; her grandchildren, Kristin Brenzikofer (Matt), Jenny Acree (Aaron), Leslie Beytien (Seth) and Lauren Hartland (Tim); her great grandchildren, Brennen, Hanna Acree, Adalyn, Avery, Nora Hartland and Vivian Beytien; her brother Alvin Winter of Marion; and her sister-in-law Wanda Winter of Salina.

Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Eastmoor United Methodist Church or the St. Luke's Hospital Foundation.
