He was predeceased by: his parents, N. H. Nielsen (Herman) and Margarethe Nielsen; his wife Frances; and his siblings, Chris, Ray and Esther Griffith.
He is survived by: his children, Darrel Nielsen (Janice) of Dunlap, Karen Bishop (John) of Emporia, David Nielsen of Dunlap and Kala Wengler (Mike) of Aurora, NE; his grandchild G. P. Pa; and his sisters, Elsie Anderson of Americus, Mary Keen of Edmond, OK and Dorathy Ratcliff of Durant, OK. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
