It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard E. Towers of Manhattan, Kansas, born in Kansas City, Kansas, who passed away on April 23, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mabel Daisy (Stitt) and Guy McKinley Towers; his siblings, Louise Hyer, LaVaun Miller and Charles Towers; his son-in-law Paul Hemingway; and his grandson Loren Hemingway.
He is survived by: his wife Wann; his children, Betsy Shapiro (Larry) of Morristown, NJ, Donna Hemingway of West Branch, Iowa and Rick Towers (Sheila) of Rossville; his sisters, Lillian Partis of Ottawa, KS and Janiece Towers of Manhattan; and his grandchildren, Becky Radich (Chris), Jessie Shapiro, Jon Hemingway, Emily Kim (DoHun), David Towers, Austin Floersch (Mandy) and Emmy Sedlacek (Jason). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
