He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Willy Scharfe and Marianne Scharfe (Poschardt); his wife Susan Zarger; his daughter Wendy Orf (Chris Orf) of Nixa, Missouri; his brother Rene Scharfe (Kathy Scharfe) of Buckeye, AZ; his grandsons, Blaine Kearns and William Scharfe; his daughter-in-law Mary Scharfe; his sister Elizabeth Scharfe; and his son Robert Scharfe.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Children Hospital.
