He was predeceased by: his parents, George Irvine and Rose Irvine (Cunningham); his son-in-law Donald Sherley, Jr.; and his granddaughters, Julia Kate Irvine and Cecilia Irvine.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Beth Irvine (Scheier); his children, Carol Sherley-Days (Alan Days), Edward Irvine (Cindy), Marlene Irvine (Jerry Shivley), Janet Klein (Rick), Paul "Bernard" Irvine, II (Emily) and John Irvine (Holly); his grandchildren, Dustin Sherley (Tami), Dan Sherley (Annette), Dylan Sherley (Rachel), Dalton Sherley (Kaitlyn), Eddie Irvine, George "Skyler" Irvine, Austin Irvine (Genevieve), Ashley Klein (Pete), Christina Tross (Jan), Emma Irvine (Benjamin Thurlow), Elizabeth Irvine, Paul Bernard Irvine III (Breigh Brockman), Benjamin Irvine, Nathaniel Irvine, Eleanor Irvine, Augustine Irvine, Anna Irvine, Wesley Irvine and Frances Irvine; and his stepgranddaughter Amy Fretz (David). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

The family is requesting that memorial contributions for the benefit of Manhattan Catholic School be made in lieu of flowers.
