It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Elizabeth Hemphill (Manhattan, Kansas), born in Wamego, Kansas, who passed away on October 20, 2022, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Elizabeth Burgess and John W. Machin II; and her brother John W. Machin III. She is survived by: her former husband Steve E. Hemphill; her daughters, Amy Hemphill of Indianapolis and Marcie Hemphill of Atlanta, Georgia; her granddaughter Elizabeth Bailey of Columbus, Indiana; her sister Margi Barber (Bob) of Hurricane, Utah; her sister-in-law Janice Machin of Riley, KS; her close friend Bob Ford of Baldwin, KS; and also Machin (Burgess). She is also survived by three nephews, one niece, six great-nephews, two great nieces.
