He is survived by: his wife Danita Goeckel of John's Catholic Church; his sons, Ryan Deters of Lenexa and Eric Deters of Roeland Park; his siblings, Tom Deters (Julene) of Baileyville, Wayne Deters (Stacy) of Springfield, MO, Vern Deters of Seneca, Carl Deters (Frannie) of Carbondale, Kathleen Houser of Topeka, Susan Huninghake (Galen) of Baileyville, Geraldine Staley (Steve) of Centralia and Betty Deters of Seneca; and his in-laws, Dianne Garber (Chuck) of Hanover, Connie Ronnebaum (Alan) of Axtell, Ron Goeckel of Hanover, Phyllis Ohlde (Andrew) of Linn and Lisa Schwarz (Stuart) of Wamego. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family suggests memorial contributions in memory of Marvin to the KU Cancer Research Fund.
